There are many fun activities to do with your kids, and I encourage you to use the list I’ve compiled to help stir some ideas for you and your family.

This list features some of the best activities for kids in Calgary year-round. Whether it’s a fun day out with the family or a full-on family vacation, these suggestions will keep the kids occupied. Some activities are seasonal, while others are season-specific. In Calgary, there are so many great things to do for the whole family.

One of my favorite activities is going to the zoo. It gets kids interested in animals. The Calgary zoo does feature a variety of animals such as tigers, lions, and gorillas which is not as common in many other city zoos.

The Creative Kids Museum is another great place for kids. It has an indoor playground, a climbing structure, and a variety of other fun activities. The Early Learning Centre at the Telus Spark Science Centre is a great place for infants and toddlers. It features various reading nooks and drawing areas.

Granary Road is a great place for a farmer’s market and an active learning park. Their special events include a Goat yoga class and a Halloween party. For kids of all ages, there are many fun activities to choose from. Some of these include climbing a giant spider web, a farm with goats, sheep, and pigs, and a variety of slides and ropes.

The Hangar Flight Museum features several airplanes that can be used to sit inside. One of the most highly requested experiences at The Hangar Flight Museum is the ability to sit in the aircraft.

The Canada Olympic Park is a year-round facility that features various sports and training areas. In winter, you can go skiing, mountain biking, and ice skating.

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame has exhibits of Canadian athletes, history panels of 14 different sports, and interactive displays.

There are many rabbits in Calgary, and if you have been staying in the city for a while, then you probably noticed them in Lindsay Park. These animals are usually peaceful and won’t attack humans.

The StoryBook Theatre is a great place for kids to learn acting. They have various productions such as The Sound of Music in Concert.

One of the most Alberta representative places to take the kids is Horsin’ Around, which offers various attractions, such as pony rides and riding lessons. During winter, they also offer sleigh rides.

Cobb’s Adventure Park is a great place for families. It features a petting zoo, a playground, and various other attractions. The giant hill slide was our favorite winter attraction. It featured various animals such as goats, ducks, and chickens.

One of the most exciting things about spring in Calgary is watching the geese fly around the park. Head to Prince’s Island in May, and you get to see plenty of goslings.

The Douglas Fir Trail is a great place to visit in the spring and autumn. It has various lookout points and huge Douglas fir trees. There are also chipmunks and squirrels in this area.

The Calgary Zoo is also known to host Zoolights, which is a yearly event. During this period, the zoo grounds are transformed into a magical place.

There are many Christmas light displays around the city, but our favorite is the ones at Confederation Park. It is a great way to see all of them in one go.

Calgary has over 50 ice skating rinks that are run by volunteers. The City of Calgary also has 9 outdoor rinks, such as the ones at Bowness Park, North Glenmore Park, and Prince’s Island Park. Aside from these, there are also ice skating areas on mountain lakes. This is a great way to spend time with the family while taking in the beautiful view.

One of the most popular attractions in Banff is the Banff Gondola, which can be found at the bottom of the mountain. There are also various free hikes in the area.

The town of Drumheller is known as the capital of the world for dinosaur fossils. The Royal Tyrell Museum is also a must-visit. Other family-friendly activities include climbing up the World’s largest dinosaur, walking on the sandy Hoodoos, hiking in the canyons, and walking in downtown Drumheller finding cartoon dino statues.

Johnston Canyon is a great place to hike with plenty of waterfalls. The easiest way to see these is by following the bridge over a rock cave.

Bar U Ranch is a great place to learn about the Old West. It features a ranch where you can learn about ranching techniques and hear cowboy stories.

A short drive from Canmore is the Grotto Canyon Ice Walk. This is a great place to hike in winter since it features numerous frozen waterfalls. You can also hike it in 4 km.

I hope this list will inspire you to explore the beautiful places in our home province.
